Hey all.

I was approved for a PGWP on May 5, 2023 and sent a Letter of Introduction which has a validity till May 5, 2026 (so for 3 years). I am outside Canada right now and I made my application from outside Canada as well. I am wanting to fly back to Canada in September (due to hugely expensive flight prices in July/August). I wanted to know that when I land in Canada in September will my work permit be issued for 3 years or will the 4 month gap I took between getting the letter & actually flying in to Canada be deducted and the work permit will only be valid for 2 years, 8 months?

Thanks!

If you are outside canada, you need to get a TRV to travel [if you do not have one]

The TRV is usually for the period you are approved for your PGWP and actualy work permit will be issued at Port of Entry

Good Luck

Will be issued for 2 years and 8 months. Your PGWP validity begins on the date it is issued.
