PGWP IMPLIED STATUS BUT SIN IS EXPIRED

Hi,

I have recently applied for my PGWP on 11th Sept, 2019 and I wish to work under the implied status, but I have an expired SIN, do I need to renew it and then work or I can work on an expired SIN.
My study permit is still valid till NOV '2019
