My post graduate work permit has a foot note saying “ further extension upon passport renewal”. Now due to a lock down and because of Covid-19 i am not able to renew my old passport which is expiring soon. Can i apply for work permit extension with my old passport and later send CIC a copy of my new passport via Webform?

1. No, there is no indication that CIC will waive the requirement that you have a valid passport.

Thanks for the reply. So what’s my best option? My passport and work permit is expiring next month and i have no clue when will this lock down open. Should i call CIC?
