Sorry if this was already discussed to death (please point me to the right topic if available).

Desperation is kicking in. I applied for EE last November, and with that score under normal circumstances, it would be a guaranteed PR in no time. Due to the halt on ITA for most of a year, I would be forced to leave Canada behind despite +3 years in a skilled job.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in that situation. I wonder who is in that same board, and what are the options available to us. As far as I know would be taking a Visitor visa and stay in canada until they call me (hopefully in 6 months), but without my job wouldn't my score go downhill?

Thanks in advance!

- Have you maxed out your IELTS scores to make sure you're getting as many points as possible? If not, do that. You can also consider learning French to boost your score.
- Have you looked into the PNP programs for the province where you are living? If not, do that asap.
- Is your current employer willing to go through the LMIA process so that you can switch to a closed work permit next year? If not, can you find an employer who will?
- I'm not sure it's a good idea to remain in Canada as a visitor and hope the score drops low enough. You don't know that will happen and it's possible IRCC may make changes to the program to target specific NOCs. I would do what you can to increase your score.
