Hi all, I would appreciate if you gave me an insight/experience/opinion on the following, as I cannot find anything related on cic or here so far...

In a couple of months, I will probably apply for my wife's PR application, through CEC, and of course I will be the dependant member in that case.

While this will be being processed, we both have valid permits (SP for me/OWP for her) until July 2015...
I graduate on April 2015, and I plan on applying for a PGWP.

My question now:
-Will I have to apply also for my wife, for a new OWP based on my PGWP, as the CEC will not be finalized till then?
-Maybe it creates some sort of conflict having these 2 applications for the same person, "running" at the same time??

I am looking forward to some input here, especially from experienced members.
Thanks in advance, good luck to all out there trying for the best!!

only problem i c is ur wife cannot apply for OWP unless u have a skilled job(NOC 0,A or B) if u go on a PGWP

OK, let's say I will find one, that's my field after all, I'm in IT, so I qualify for 2-3 NOC B codes...

Then she can apply without any problems, even CEC will be on the process?

If that's the case, then I assume that she cannot work anymore on her current job, from my PGWP approval until I have a skilled job, so she will just stay here with me as an accompanying member... Am i right?

Unless she gets an LMIA and therefore a "closed" WP from her current employer.

Thanks for the input!!

right and u will have to get her a visitors permit cause if her current work permit has expired then she will be out of status

If I find a skilled job from April that I graduate till 30 July 2015 (our current permits), then that will be the best possible outcome for us, right?
I could apply for her new OWP, while the previous would be still valid, based on my new PGWP.

Do I need to apply for visitor's permit, even though we come from a visa exempt country?
Won't she be able just to stay with me as a dependant?

Also, do you know if any of all these will have anything to do with the ongoing CEC application?

Or your wife just applies for a Bridging Open Work Permit once she has AOR from the CEC app and her current permit is within 4 months of expiry....

Yeah, I have thought about that, but that gives you only 1 year, right?

So if CEC is rejected (hope not), at least she will have longer valid OWP, until we apply again through my job probably or hers again, with more experience/salary (who knows).

You think that is a better solution though?

If the CEC app is rejected, there is nothing stopping her from applying for another work permit at that time based on your PGWP, provided you have a skilled job.
