Hi everyone,

I know there’s a check list and everything is listed on gov site. But I am still worried and nervous applying on behalf of my parents!

Please share your experiences below!

1. did you hire a lawyer/consultant? Check list seem to be pretty short and straightforward… so I might be just overthinking at this point!

2. how long did it take you to fill out the forms? Did you encounter any challenges?

3. anything that I need to watch out?

4. what are some reasons a person could be rejected? Other than income requirement!

Thank you so much in advance. Anything helps! (I honestly might just be anxious now. But because the checklist seem to be so short! I thought there might be more that I needed to fill…)

1-if you are the type of person that can take his time going over all the details you will be fine without any lawyer/consultant ,not saying its easy or difficult ,because its a specific number of forms and a lot of details ,i suggest that you go over the forms and you will know if you can and cannot .
at the end its not only about saving money its more like can you do it or not .
2- filling the forms in my case took 5 days ,gathering the documents ( my mother applying and getting and translating two weeks )
3- read all the guidlines and details ,the file will be after a waiting period because as an example you didnt follow the rule of how to translate properly a document, or missing a signature ...
4- most of the comments that we see is related to financial requirements ,sad part is all of us wants our parents here but not all have the financial requirements and they try there luck and it will be refused for sure ,sometimes the medical didnt go through and for sure other reasons
