Hi,

Here is my question. I'm planning on sponsoring my parents in 2018.

We are a family of 6 - me, my wife and 2 kids ( born in 2015, 2016) plus my 2 parents to be calculated for the application.

My income for 2015: 77k (line 150 on option C)
My income for 2016: 71k (line 150 on option C) plus a property that was sold over 100k which is reported on line 182 on option C

My income for 2017: roughly 105k (estimate)

My question is based on information above would I qualify under LICO requirements? My worry is 2016 income.

Thanks in advance.

You need $75,174 in 2016. Since as far as I know they only count line 150, that would make you ineligible to sponsor. A principal residence sold does not count towards income.

Is 2016 income including your wife's as co-signer?

Note also that IRCC may require 2014/2015/2016 income to apply in 2018. We won't know for sure until official 2018 rules are released.

If you don't meet 2016 LICO, then with 2017/2018/2019 you can possibly apply to the lottery in 2020 or 2021.

Thanks for that. I guess I'm out of luck.
