I have applied PR for my Mom in PGP 2020 , as I am qualifying for income criteria for one parent only this time. I got letter from IRCC asking me to submit IM0008 form again mentioning dependent info which is missing in that form. I did not mention my Dad name in it. They ask me to resubmit it.What is the best reason should I put in the field "Whether he is accompanying to Canada or not"
Will they accept my application if I am sponsoring only one parent?

If your parents are married, you must include both of them in the application. You can’t just sponsor one parent at a time. You must sponsor both of them/ So they want to see that you met LICO and you must submit your father’s information.

Unless your mom and dad are divorced, you have to include your Dad in IMM0008. You may be able to put him as "non-accompanying" BUT he still need to go through medical, police and security check and pass before your mom will get PR. And the family size for income requirement needs to include your dad as well.

So most people at this point will just include both parents in the application (I think the only difference here is the landing fee for 1 vs 2).

If you only have income for just your mom, you actually do not meet the requirement to sponsor her (or them, since it's the same). Your application will eventually be refused.

Withdraw your application. You don't qualify as a sponsor.

As said above, you need to have enough income to cover both of your parents even if you are only sponsoring one at this time.

OP only posted 1 message since he/she joined.

As we have answered, you cannot pick and sponsor 1 of the 2 parents if they are still married. And even if you put 1 as principle applicant and the other as non-accompanying dependent, both have to go through most of the process and both needed to be included in the income requirement family size count.
