If my PR application is approved, how long do I have to enter the country? I ask because I also thought about going to Aus, and I know that you have 4 years (that seems so long!) to "activate" your PR after receiving approval.

Thanks!

You should enter before your medicals expire.

I should land before COPR expires. The expiration date will be printed on your COPR.

you don't get 4 years to land.
The actual date will be on your COPR. But it'll either be one year after you did your medicals or the expiry date of your passport, whichever one is closest.
You should have a few months from when you get your COPR to activate it, not years.

The bold one is not necessary true. If medical is expired before PR application is completed or is due to expire before applicant is able to land, CIC has authority to extend medical certificate to an additional year (even without informing applicant about the extension). Happened to me in my PR application.
