Good day!!!

I came here in Canada last may2008 with my husband and son and then 2010 I had a baby so 2011 we decided to go back in the Philippines for vacation but then me and my husband went back in canada after 2 months. We left the kids there for awhile. They stayed there for 8 months. So they came back june 2012 but now we are having troubles about babysitting we were thinking to bring them back home maybe 2 years just to settle everything. My son is permanent resident and my daughter is canadian citizen. How long they can stay there without losing permanent residency and not having any problem with my daughter's citizenship.
Thank you!!!

Your daughter can stay outside Canada forever and still keep her citizenship. Your son has to meet the same residency obligation as you to keep his PR, that is he has to stay in Canada 730 days in any rolling 5 year period. That means the maximum time he can be gone in a 5 year period is 1095 days or 3 years. However, if he loses his PR, you can sponsor him again as long as you are living in Canada and you meet the residency obligation yourself and he is under 22 years of age and not married.
