PERMANENT RESIDENT: ADMISSION CRITERIA

Hi everyone.
I live in Canada with TWP that will expire 31/12/2018.
My TWP started January 1 2015, and I started to work for my company on January 12. I came here with an Intra Company Transfer LMIA exempt, as a skilled worker. I am from Europe.
I'm loving this Country and the ppl here, I'm buying an appartement soon, and I want to apply for the PR.
I recently spent 100$ for a consultancy with a bad lawyer that pretty much told me few things that I even already knew.

In order to apply for the PR you need to pass an English exam and you need to have worked here for 1yr.
Good... my question was pretty simple: then what ?
He wasn't capable of giving me a concrete answer.

I'm asking this because I hear many different story of the PR admission criteria.
Some ppl says that is a "lottery" (that depends on the mood of the officer that day... seriously ?).
Some ppl says that as soon as you:

A) Pass your English Test.
B) Have a Job and have worked here for 1 yr.
C) Have a Solid Bank Account with a good credit score.
D) Have a clean Police record history.
E) Haven't travelled in any toxic Country in the last years.
F) Are in good health: no diesesse of contagious illness.

The PR is a "formality" and you should get it easy.

Can someone return me some light over this ?

Program requirements vary depending on the immigration program you select. You'll have to do some research to determine which program you may qualify for and what the requirements are. You can find this information here:

To answer your questions:

A) Yes - you will need to take a language test (English or French) and achieve a minimum score to qualify.
B) No - you don't necessarily have to have a job or one year of experience to apply (it depends which immigration program you apply through)
C) In some cases you may need to show that you have a minimum level of funds in your bank account - in other cases you don't (again, depends on the immigration program). Your credit score doesn't matter at all.
D) Yes
E) No - it doesn't matter where you have travelled.
F) Yes

There are a number of other requirements. You'll need to read through the program requirements in detail to understand the process end to end.

Canada has no lottery system. PR is not a "formality" and there is no guarantee it will be easy to get - even if you are in Canada on an ICT.

If the lawyer you consulted with told you that having a year of work experience was mandatory to immigrate - then he has no idea what he's talking about and you should never consult with him again.
