Hi,
This is my first time posting, and also first time on this website. I have a question about the way international fees work, so first I will say a little about my situation:

- I applied for permanent residency in May of 2015 (well, my mother did with a common-law sponsor, and I am under the same application). We have just recently heard from the immigration agency approving my mother's sponsor, and requesting medical reports, that were sent about a month and a half ago.
- I am currently in my first year of university and I paid international fees for the first semester.
- I have yet to pay for second semester fees, which are due in January.

So, my question is: would the international fees be affected at all by this decision. If so, would I get a refund for the past fees, since I was under an application at the time of payment? I heard that from another international student, but I don't know how reliable that source is :D.

Thank you, to whomever would share any information they have with me,

MARIA

You really need to discuss this with your specific uni given everyone will have different guidelines and just because some other student says something does not it make true. Doubtful you would get any fees refunded retrospectively though given until you are actually landed as a PR you are not a domestic student, having an application for PR is not the same.

Agreed that you need to talk to your school. It's up to your school what breaks they give you on fees before you become a PR.
