Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen by birth living in the UK. My husband and son were both born in the UK and we are now going to be moving to Canada. I am applying to sponsor my husband through the family class and we will also be applying for a citizenship certificate for my son (as he is a citizen by decent).. my question is do we need to have my son's citizenship certificate first in order to send a copy with the permanent residence application?

You can go ahead and send the application to sponsor your husband, list your son in the family information form.

You will need to obtain his citizenship certificate and Canadian passport to bring him to Canada.

You can send this in when you get it.
