Hi I applied about 7 or 8 months ago for my PR as a skilled worker. I just received a letter asking for my original passport and a certified check for the right of permanent residency fee. Does this mean that my application was approved?

No its not approved it is still in process, it approves when you get maple on your passport.

Which VO is ur file with? and have u completed medicals?

Yes Medicals were received by the visa office 5 months ago.

sadly I did not know I could choose Ottawa as my visa office, so I had to go for my country of origin.

ur file is approved and hence passports requested for stamping...With ur visa office choice u are better off as Ottawa office is already flooded with processing of applications for their VO plus files being moved to them due closure of Buffalo VO, USA........Thank ur stars
