Hello, Thankfully after numerous years applying to CIC for my wife’s Parents to immigrate to Canada the application was finally accepted early 2016. The application was for Permanent Residence / Family Class (Parent Grandparents)
My wife and I had a baby mid last year (2016) so we are a bit desperate to get them here to help take care of the our Son especially since we know that the application approval process is quite a few years behind.
I’m wondering if it would work to, while waiting for the application to go through, apply for them to come on the 10 year Visitor Visa. I’ve read that it is allowed but I’m unclear on how this would work:
- Firstly, is it correct we can apply via the 10 year Super Visa?
- The Parents do not have a lot back home, they would have to give up their belongings and rental unit. Would this affect their chances of being accepted (as would a regular Visitor Visa)?
- If it goes through, do I amend/change their address to my own on the Family Class/Parents and Grandparents application since, even though they are ‘Visiting’ they do not have an address back home?
- When the Parents and Grandparents application goes through will they have to go back home to wait for the process to complete (this would really be a horrible situation since they would have nowhere to go) or do they have to just cross the border – do they have to leave at all?
- Do they actually have to leave after 2 years and re-enter after reapplying?
Sorry so long, really trying to get them here soon as they are getting older, it's growing more and more dangerous where we come from plus the timing of the baby and us buying a house would work out so well financially and Family wise.
Any other advice would be truly appreciated.
~ Chris
