Hi CV,

How long does one has to stay in Canada after all the immigration process is completed and he reached the Canada and would that stay be continuous or he could come back to his own country like twice a year?

Thank you!

As long as your PR status is still valid.

You can be outside Canada up to 3 years (1095 days) in any rolling 5 year period. The 2 years (730 days) you must spend in Canada do not have to be continuous but you need to keep good records of your travels because you will need the dates when you apply to renew your PR card. You should also not gamble on having only exactly 730 days in Canada but give it a buffer of at least another month or so.
