Performing a one-off job in the USA - Visa Required?

Canadian company wants to send their employee to the USA for one job since the company was hired to put on a virtual event there. The US company wants someone present in case anything goes wrong so Canadian company will send their employee to be there for 3 days during the event. Will this employee need a work visa to enter the US?
