Hi ALL,

I applied for PR on Oct and waiting for the landing. Unfortunately, I got charge with a criminal offence(DUI) around Dec. I have some questions. Can I still able to land in Canada? Should I notice CIC? Also, my PGWP is about to expire, can I still stay in Canada while waiting for my court? Or should I leave canada and waiting for my case?

All helps are appreciated.

Just my opinion. I would let IRCC know about the charge and accept the refusal. Why?

Because they will find out for sure and if you don’t tell them you will be charged with misrepresentation.

Show IRCC that you have enough integrity to own up to your mistake. Good luck!

You need to hire a really good lawyer if you want the opportunity to acquire a PR. If you are found guilty of dui, you’ll be inadmissible to Canada. And that includes for a PR. And you are required to inform IRCC of any changes that may effect your application or, as previously noted, you will be misrepresenting yourself.
