What to do if you need PCC for a country where you no longer live and for which you must request the document in person?

I'm asking because:
- The rule says PCC must be issued after last departure from the country
- Yet country rules are that you must pick up your PCC in person

What do I do with this one guys?

Dominican Republic

Have you gone through this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/central-south-amer/dominican-republic.asp

They say you need to contact Prosecutor general.

In this case you will need a PCC. There are some countries for which they have clearly stated that you don't need a PCC if you are currently not a resident.

Yes I have. Emailed them and got no response. Called them and could never get through.

However other people have told me I need to apply in person.

Wait for other people's reply who have got a PCC from Dominican Republic.

If there is a chance of any of your family members can apply on your behalf, do take this route.

Try and see (google) if there are any agencies out there that do that as a service against a fee.

Just a tip add Dominican Republic in title of thread so you can get response from people from same country.

Ahem... OK, that is the "letter" of the IRCC instructions. But I believe the intent is, if you obtain it while you are in the country, it is the same as if you are "living" there, in which case it is valid for 6 months.

US State Department website says this too, you must apply in person. I think the only alternative to applying in person is to ask a family member to do it (if possible), or contact a lawyer/legal service.

In the link below you can request a digital PCC. It does work for IRCC purposes:
