PLEASE SHARE WHO APPLIED FOR PCC INDIA LAST MONTH?
I APPLIED ON 19TH DECEMBER, NO NEWS YET? :(

Hi I applied for PCC on December 13, 2012. This is my 3rd week and have not received it yet..... :( :( :( :( :( :(

did you guys apply @ VFS toronto or Ottawa?

OTTAWA TAKES 10 DAYS AND TORONTO 6 WEEKS, TECHNICALLY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE OTHER THAN IT TAKES MORE VOLUME OF APPLICATION, IF THAT'S THE CASE THEY SHOULD ENCOURAGE TO SEND APPLICATION TO OTTAWA OR SPLIT TORONTO LOAD TO OTTAWA, MANAGEMENT IS UNBELEIVABLE, I CALLED CALL CENTRE AND THAT LADY TOLD ME THAT I COME UNDER TORONTO JURISDICTION SO I HAVE TO APPLY HERE, OTHERWISE MY PLAN WAS TO GO IN PERSON OTTAWA AND GET IT IN 10 DAYS

Can we not send it by post to Ottawa and does the jurisdiction matter then? How does VFS determine the jurisdiction?

I have no Idea, call centre people doesn't know anything, even nobody no anything, that pisses me off !!!

VFS Application Centre Jurisdiction > http://in.vfsglobal.ca/yourapplicationcentre.html

You need to have lots of patience when dealing with PCC to be issued by CGI. The default processing time frame itself is 4-6 working weeks at Toronto. Earlier PCC's were issued as early as within one week of application. Now they report shortage of staff.

Wait for exactly 6 weeks and approach CGI in person the next day quoting urgency of travel. You will get it the same day.

The processing time is ridiculous. I checked the link for determining the jurisdiction and was thinking what is the way for them to determine the jurisdiction if we just sent the application for PCC by mail...Any thoughts!!!

Your address that you quote on the PCC application.

Agreed Andy..

I was checking the "Application for Miscellaneous Services" CGI website and found that the fee is C$20.00 + $2 Consular surcharge payable to Consulate General of India, Toronto by Bank draft/Money Order/Certified Cheque.

My question is should I take the bank draft for $20 or $22?

I used miscellaneous services a month ago and i paid 28$, so best thing will be go and check again or call them. i had to cancel the draft of 22$ and i made again for 28$

Also, what should I answer to the below question in the PCC application form?

Have you visited/stayed in India after acquisition :__________________________________________
of landed status/foreign Nationality? If yes, please give details:

If you never went back after you came to canada, then it will be NO

I was under the impression that landed status meant a "landed immigrant status" and not the temporary resident status. Please advise.
