We almost made a huge error - didn't realize there was an email coming for the true receipt of payments.
Anyhow, got it and am filling in the info.

For Client date of birth - I'm assuming we put the applicants, right? (makes sense)
and
Client ID (We have none? so leave it blank?)

Thanks!

I put mine information, left the client ID blank. I am not sure I guess whoever is paying. I am a sponsor and paid fees so i put all mine's info.

If you have a Visitor Record, it actually has your permanent Client ID on it. It's in a box labelled "Client ID". Yes, the "client" is the applicant.

My understanding is this is the Sponsors information. That is what we put. I did make that error and sent the receipt that I printed, and not the official one. I faxed them to let them know and thy put a note on our file. I have since forwarded the originals to Buffalo.

since I, as the sponsor, paid the fees, I assumed that the information that should be filled out was mine. It will be my name on the credit card that was used to make the payment, and I thought it would be confusing otherwise....although I could understand if one of us had a client ID, it would make sense to use that person's info.

I also agree. It is the sponsor's information that is required.

We had a conjugal partner application that was rejected last year and since this was a new application as spousal, I did not think it would be the same Client ID, so left it blank when I paid the fees. The sponsorship approval letter arrived and they have assigned me the same Client ID from last year's sponsorship approval. Leaving it blank did not cause a problem.

Well I am guess I'm wondering about my kids Certificate of Citizenship - they obviously being just 3, can't pay themselves :D

I am guessing sponsor on this one... FRUSTRATED, Sydney received our app in late May and still nothing shows on Ecas regarding this!

ARGHHHG

That is frustrating! :(
I ended up putting my husband (their Canadian parent) in as the bday. Hopefully that's OK.. as we are sending both kids together and it says to do so - and while my kids share a birthdate, not everyone would.

Should be putting mine in the mail tomorrow. Nervous!

I'm going to go with Heather on this one too. Since the sponsor approval is the first step and the sign in to ecas is with sponsor's info., seems sponsor is used as the reference, at least until it goes to the next phase, which in our cases is Buffalo.

:( I'm in the same boat as you Heather, file transferred to Buffalo on May 25th, still nothing from Buffalo and NOTHING on ecas...............grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ::)

I have to admit, I sent in the wrong receipt.

Just the printed version and not the proper email version. CIC never queried this and granted me PR.

So do not worry too much, they just want your money.

The lady I spoke with on the phone about mine being the wrong receipt did say that whoever looked at it may not have a problem with it as long as they could match up the payment. I sent the original on to Buffalo anyway but they did approve sponsorship with the wrong copy.

I was told numerous times here that the sponsor was supposed to be the one you fill in for the entire payment receipt. I paid as the applicant, but still put his info. I was also told this information is only relevent if they have to return the fees to you... but that could be wrong.

What e-mail?? I just attached the bottom half of the printed receipt, as specified.

When we paid online through CIC, there was a confirmation that printed. This wasnt the official receipt. That came in an email that had to be printed and then, like you said, the bottom portion submitted.

Yeah, I guess I didn't view my husband as 'sponsoring' them.... they are gaining it on their own accord. I dunno.
I am guessing the name so doesn't matter. If they get paid, who cares.
