Hello, my name is Iordan. I have a study visa question.
I am a Bulgarian national who moved to America when I was 16 years old with my parents. We entered illegally at the time but my father now has a pending asylum immigration hearing. Ten years have gone by and we are still waiting for resolution.
I was accepted to the University of New Brunswick and now have to apply for a study visa. I will be applying to the Canadian Embassy in Romania since they service Bulgarian citizens. The Canadian immigration authorities require the applicant's original passport, which I will send. But, it states that the passport has to have the appropriate visas in it. Since I entered illegally 10 years ago and don’t have any visas in my passport will it be a problem if I am applying to the embassy in Romania? I hope to remain in America and work while I wait for the visa to come in, I don’t want to move to Bulgaria unless I have to.
Thank you.
