Passports not back for almost a month~ how to request MVO to expedite?

It's been almost a month since we submitted our passports to MVO and there is still no update. What can possibly cause this?
We need the passport back coz our companies scheduled already for our work visa cancellation as we already submitted our resignation thinking that it will not take a month for our passports to be returned.
Can we request MVO to expedite their processing? Will it not affect the final decision for our application.
If there are problems with the passports or photos they should have already informed us, right??

No - you cannot request expedite processing. You can request that your passports be returned if you need them - however this means that at some point you'll need to return the passports back to CIC so that the processing of your PR visas can be completed. I'm not sure why you submitted a resignation before obtaining your PR visas. This wasn't a good decision.
