When you get the PR Card while in the USA. What kind of information goes in the passport?

-An immigrant visa is stamped on passport and the visa has an expiry date on it.

It would not be the PR card that you would get while you are in the US, it would be the PR visa in your passport and I assume it looks something like this: http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto/Articles/4555596/CanadaImmigrationPassport-main_Full.jpg except it would not say Singapore on it. After you land in Canada, you will get your PR card in the mail and that looks like this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/images/prcard-front.jpg

Does this happen before I land in Canada?

So my representative will do this on my passport? or do I have to go to a Canadian Consulate in USA?

When CIC asks you for your passport, you mail it to them and they mail it back with the visa in it. Then you have a time limit to land in Canada or the visa will expire.
