Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding my concern upon my passport & student visa expiry date.
Both of my passport and student visa will expire on July 15, 2015 and I will finish the school year at the end of April 2015.
I was thinking that I could just renew my passport and student visa in the summer right after I finish school when I go home, but my parents advised me to renew them both during Winter break in December since some countries only allow people to get into their country if they have a passport that is valid for six months or more.
My concern is that the whole application and extending the student visa will take a long time (it took me 2 months to get my student visa in the first place because I had to send it to the Philippines) and my Winter break only lasts for 3 weeks.
Keep in mind that I can only do this whole process of renewing my passport and extending my visa back home in Korea because my parents live there and I would also need to extend my Korean alien card if I renew my passport because if I renew my passport and student visa here in Canada, I wouldn't be able to enter Korea (i.e. go home) without the alien card that matches my new passport.
Any advice regarding this situation?
Thank you so much!
