Hi guys,

I have a question regarding passport validity when applying for CEC.

I've heard that the CEC processing time takes 13~15 months.

When I apply soon, I will have my passport valid for ~1 year and 5 or 6 months. So approximately 17~18 months.

Do you think this is enough for me to get the PR in time?

I'm not really sure the steps for the CEC process yet, and I don't know how long each step will take..

I've heard that "visa issuance" will require at least 6 months of passport validity during processing. Is this true? If so, when usually does visa issuance happen?

I would like to note that I can NOT renew the passport after this validity for certain reasons, so do you think this is possible?

Please do not ask why I can't renew it, because it's nothing that will get me rejected or anything..it's personal.

Thank you guys.

I sent my application with a 15 month valid passport.

My passport expires in march

I got my Confirmation of permanent residence and my visa is valid only to march.

What I mean is: You won't have any problems with your passport as long as:

1. You don't have any delays with your application

2. You are ready to do the landing before your passport expires.
