Hello!

I submitted my Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) online from India. Now I am back in Canada and have been asked to submit my passport by IRCC. Is it possible for me to submit my passport here in Canada instead of in India? Whom should I contact in Canada to make this possible?

If not, then is it possible to courier my passport to India OR to extend my passport submission deadline (which is in 2 weeks) ?

Please advise!
Thank you!
Warm regards,
Nesh

Hey, can you please share where you submitted the passport ?

I did not receive any communication from IRCC. So I sent my passport to a friend in India by FedEx which is legally possible if you are the sender. The Blue Dart service picked it up from her. It was then picked up by another friend of mine who was travelling to Canada (I mentioned a different return address via the blue dart form provided by the visa office).

Once I got the passport, I had to visit a Canadian land border and do flagpoling ( please look it up) to get my actual work permit. This is because I applied from India and was already in Canada. I did flagpoling as that was more financially feasible than having to leave and come back to Canada via an international flight.

But then, you have to be on time or a little early for flagpoling as they only process a certain number of applications (between 10 to 15, I suppose) a day and will ask you to come again if they are full for the day. Also, only a few border points offer this service.

NOTE: You cannot be too early as the Canadian side does not let you in for flagpoling if you are too early and you cannot wait at the US side of the border for the right time. You do not need a US visa to do this process.

Please let me know if anything is not clear.
