Dear All,

I have submitted my application for pr on 31.03.2017 and paid the RPRF Fees on 12 June 2017.
I would like to know by when and where i would be asked to submit passport for visa stamping?
I would like to travel during July mid to August early. Can this create a problem?

Hello svaid!

I am in a similar situation.
I applied on May 8 and on June 15 I received a request for medical examination, which I will take next week.
I am traveling to Canada on July 1 as a visitor and I plan to stay at least 3 months.
If my application is approved, do you think I can get my visa within Canada or in the US? I mean, the actual stamp, after everything else has been approved.
The normal procedure would be to send my passport to the authorities in my home country and wait until they send it back with the visa

16 months from application for PNP or 6 months for Express entry

If you are in a different country than your visa is processed, when you get the PPR email, you can send email and ask to process it in where you are and they will send you further instructions

Did you have a tourist visa already?
Because applying for a tourist visa and a pr is actually a clash of intentions.
For the tourist visa you must be able to substantiate to the visa officer that you have ties in home country and have no intention of staying in canada.
PR application is when you have intention to stay in canada.

if you are already in canada at the time you receive call for submission of passport, i dont really know. all i heard/ read is that they will give you a period of 30 days within which you must submit. but then submit where, can we opt for a location to submit, how long after will we receive the passport, - no definite answers.
