Passport sent without copr...help

My husband was sent a request to send passport on November 7...he just got passport back without any paperwork or stamp or CoPr what does this mean. We almost coming close to our two year Anniversary and we been apart for so long. He lives in India so what does this mean. Heard inland get to virtual land but out about Outland someone please help. Immigration lawyers just want to rip you off for stupidness

It expired a few days before they got it... so December 4 it expired and December 8 they got the passport

Don't worry it happen with my sister and they sent passport with stamp but today she got letter to apply for PR card
