Hi,

I am asking this for my friend. He applied for his wife under ''spousal sponsorship''. She got her PPR in late July, 2010. Her medical was expiring on the 15th of August.( that means her medical is expired now)......Now she got her passport back on the 30th of September without any visa OR ANY LETTER mentioning any reason why it is being returned.....so basically she got back her passport only ....nothing else...........
Has anyone experienced this before?????
I tried to calm them down by saying that the medical is expired and the CIC Forgot to send the letter...............I would appreciate if any one could help here by sharing their experience.....

Thanks in advance

Re-medicals would take time in processing, CHC would not retain her passport for that long time, one may need passport to travel. That is why they have sent it back. Wait for re medicals now.

Thanks explorer101. But the thing is they did not send any letter with the passport. The Online status still shows '' In process''. So may be they forgot to put letter in the envelop.????

Rest assured CIC doesn't forget anything. What Explorer opined makes 100% sense. As there was just a month's gap between PPR & Meds Expiry - for some reason her Security didn't return "cleared" in time... thus CIC chose to return the pps.

Await for their instructions for a fresh medical & take it from there.

Hi Qorax,
I don't know how come CHC New Delhi keeps passports for 2-3 months ...It's fine they can keep documents but passports...If someone has to travel , how he or she communicate with CHC New Delhi...

Even in my case it's exactly 68 days since they recieve my passports ..No reply nothing...Quite surprising ...

Thanks

No, they absolutely don't want to keep it. Remember, u have sent it to them - for your own purpose. U can always ask them to return it back to u, whenever u want. But... it might come back "unstamped".

CIC has a job to do. To safeguard their shores - before sending out their permits. Don't u think that's fair? Thus, they'd take all measures to Xcheck our antecedents - aka Security Clearance. And that takes time, in some cases (only). Could be repeated as well, as the pps come by, again in some cases (only).

So, we should have patience & give them their due diligence, I think we should.
