Hello Seniors! hope all of you are doing good.
I am November 2012 applicant and with god grace today i received email from CIC asking for my passport which needs to be submitted to CPP-Ottawa.
But my query is that i am on vacations and currently in India, Is it possible to send my Passport to CPP-Ottawa from here, Or can i submit my passport to Canadian high commission over here in India.

Please throw some light on this situation seniors, I always appreciate your kind advice which is very helpful for all of us.

Thanks
God Bless Everyone!

You cannot send passport outside of India by post. Read last page of your passport.

In order to get stamping at New Delhi , you need to send email to cpp-Ottawa requesting the same. They will facilitate . Please note that such requests can take many weeks. So, be prepared to not travel until you get passport back.

Congrats and all the best !

I may get into similar situation as I'm expecting my PPR soon and I'm traveling to India in two weeks time.

I was wondering if walk-in stamping at New Delhi could be one of the option.

I was also in the same situation and inquired in all the possible ways to get the Visa stamped in the PP, in these cases.
There is no way that you can walk-in to CIC office either in Canada or India to get a stamp.
Also, you can not send your passport to India office, as all your process done in Canada. They will ask you to get your whole file transfer to India.

The only solution is, make sure that you come back from India within the given timeline (say 60 days) and submit the passport in Canada.
You are totally fine, if you send the passport before 60 days. They said that they will see the postal stamp on the Passport delivery and validate with your PPR mail.

Hi canimm123,

you can't get your visa stamped in new delhi because you are in india for vacation and not moved back there,so your visa will ONLY be stamped in cpp-ottawa because your file is finalized there.
you have 60 days so as long as you come back to canada within the frame time given by CIC,you can mail your passport to cpp-ottawa.

Hi canimm123,

i have just replied to that query and said that there is no way you will get visa from CHC new delhi if you are just visiting india.CIC will not transfer files for applicants because they were in vacation when PPR was received, unless you moved for good to india then your hopes are not going to get you anything but dissapointement.

Hi,

Thanks for assistance but there are cases in which stamping was done by CHC New Delhi. Please refer to below link :

you are welcome canimm123,

those guys have moved back to india and they are not there only for vacation.cpp-ottawa consider their request to get the visa stamped in new delhi because cpp-ottawa are aware of the difficulties these applicants are facing since indian citizens are not allowed to mail passport out of the country.
in your case there is no such a consideration because you can come back to canada and get your visa from cpp-ottawa hence transfering your file to new delhi will be a waste of resources to the cic department.

The first thing is to just notify cpp about you situation through email and in most cases they do consider and allow CHC new delhi to do it for you!!
I personally know couple of applicants and they ended up getting in India!!

good luck

For those who requested to stamp your passport in India after travelling back, please could you update the time taken by CIC to respond in this discussion thread.
