Hi,

I am seeking advise regarding my mother's visa application. My mother is from Pakistan but she was in US recently and returned to Pakistan a month ago. While she was in US she had applied to Canadian Visa but hadn't heard a reply. After a month now they have asked for her passport but she is no longer in US. Does she have to come to US to submit her passport? Is there any way around it?

Thank you!

Your mother needs to submit her passport to the US visa office to complete the process. If this isn't possible, she can always abandon the application and start again from scratch by applying through Islamabad.

Once the Visa is approved, that means the requirement for Visa has been met.I know someone who got his Visa printed in a country other than the country that approved it.Send a mail to US Canadian Visa post about your circumstance and the possibility of obtaining a note for the Visa to be printed at the Canadian Visa Post in Pakistan. This should not be a big deal Goodluck!
