Passport Request for Permanent Residency Application

I received a letter from IRCC requesting a passport submission for my Canadian Permanent Residence application. The letter says that applicants in Canada only need to submit a photocopy of their passport, but those outside Canada must submit the original passport. I am an Indian citizen, currently in the United States as a visitor. Do I need to travel to India to submit my passport through VFS, or can I submit it from the U.S. through VFS Global?

Congrats on receiving the passport request for your permanent residency application — that’s a big milestone! Be sure to double-check the instructions for document submission (scans, notarization, polytrack , etc.) and deadlines. If anyone here has gone through this step recently, I’d love to hear tips or things you wish you’d known ahead of time
