We applied for pr whilst living in Canada on Work Permits. We have very recently received an email requesting passport copies and photos which is great!
The only thing is..in the email it says this !
Unless your passport or the passport of one of your accompanying family members expires on an earlier date, your permanent resident visas will all expire on 29 April 2014.
We managed to sent the documents express to London (we already know we could have applied to Ottawa our mistake) to arrive in there very quickly. I am just panicking that they wont mail the COPR to me in time before the April 29 2014 date!! Why would they give me such a short deadline?? The email even said SEND PASSPORT COPIES AND PICTURES WITHIN 30 DAYS MARCH 24 2014!! which is stupid if the pr expires April 29 and its all being done by mail!
I think their biggest mistake was giving us our medical request so early!! Our medicals were requested March 2013 and completed in the April. Then they sat on the application a year then requested passports hence the expiry being so close on the pr!!
I am so confused. Why would they do this. I have been patient this whole time and now they give us this ridiculous deadline and cant even talk to anyone about it.
When I sent the passport copies I sent it with a letter asking if what they had stated in the email was correct. Sorry for the rant guys. Anyone heard of this before ?
