Hi everyone.

Im applying for permanent residence in Canada. After a looooooong months of waiting (i should say years), finally i receive a letter from CIC asking for our Passports. The thing is this: me and my wife are from Guatemala and our child is from United States of America (was born in the USA, has an American Passport but lives here in Guatemala with us). My question is, do i have to send his Passport? Or just the photocopy of the bio data page?.

I think I should send the passports for me and my wife and the bio data page from the passport of our kid (because is a passport that doesn’t need a visa to enter Canada), but im not sure.

Please help…. Ive been waiting for this moment for years, and i dont want to make any mistakes at this stage. Thanks everyone.

First of all, Congrats!
For your child, only a photocopy of the bio data page is required since he is from a visa-exempt country (i.e., USA).
Good Luck!
