passport renewal EE

Hi all, I just received email notification from CIC to ask me renew my passport, they are saying my passport is less than a year validitliy. here is my background, received ITA and AOR in July, passport expired in Sep 2017. I thought only those validility under 6 months is an issue. in the email, they are saying "in order to minimize delays...". can anyone advise if this is gonna delay the whole thing again...

Renew your passport. It's that simple. Renew it and send them details of your new one.

yeah I can renew my passport no problem, my concern is if CIC will hold everything and resume once they received my updated passport file, or they will proceed anyway. I hope it is the latter one lol

Probably the first, but there's nothing you can do about it.
