Passport Renewal Application Submission Help

Hi Everyone,
My WES ECA report will be delivered early next week but the new passport of my wife will be delivered third week of June. My question is can I use the old passport of my wife for submission to CIC? How do I inform CIC once the new passport is delivered? Will there be an issue on this one since the new passport of my wife will change her surname to my surname? I hope someone can enlighten me. To avoid complications regarding change of wife's surname, I'd recommend you apply with the new passport. Not sure if that presents other challenges like educational documents being in her maiden name, assuming she finished college before marriage.
