PASSPORT problem!

We already got our MR last march 19 and we are in the process of completing everything, problem is my passport is going to expire February 2013. What should I do?

a) should I pass everything and just wait for them to ask for my passport before I renew them?
or
b) should I renew them now, make a letter that I did renew my passport if time will permit it. Time is another problem, I don't know how long would it take to renew my passport.

I am not expert but I read on this forum, you can renew your passport at any stage, you have to inform visa office about renewal and send the copy of renewed passport.

Firstly, check how long it takes to renew your passport. Also check the average time taken by your visa office to stamp the passport and send them back to you. Based on that you can make a decision.

When u receive your passport request in that it is mentioned that your passport has to be valid for 1 year.So my advice is send your passport for renewal (put it in Tatkal )so that u receive ur passport back in 15 days.For submission of passport they will give u time.Like for me they gave 30 days time.I have seen other members who were given 90 days time.So renewal of passport will be a good idea
