Hello,
Canadian Embassy in Rome asked me to send them the original passport for the visa....I have only one page available...could it be enough? Do I have to ask for another passport and send it with the old one?
Thank you in advance for any reply....

From your previous post, you are Italian. You are visa-exempt to Canada, so they shouldn't need to put a visa into your passport. Some offices request a photocopy of the passport for visa-exempt people but not the actual passport, so it's odd that they requested yours.

this is what they sent me:
Dear Sir/Madam,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

We are ready to undergo the final review of your application. Please mail us the original passports (not photocopies) valid for international travel for yourself and for each member of your family who will be accompanying you to Canada (not including Canadian citizens).

The Case Processing Center in Mississauga will be contacting your sponsor in Canada for payment of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee. The CPC will advise our office directly once the fee has been. Once your sponsor has completed payment to CPC-Missisauga proof that payment has been made can be forwarded to our office.

Should your sponsor wish to make payment prior to being contacted, payment can be made as follows:

1) Make online payment of the RPRF to the CPC in Mississauga at : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

2) Submit proof of payment to CPC-M online at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-after.asp, by fax to 905-803-7392 or by mail to Case Processing Centre Mississauga, 2 Robert Speck Parkway, Suite 1200 Mississauga, ON L4Z 1H8.

We expect to receive the required documents within 30 days from the date of this e-mail.

I'm unsure of why they requested it but since they did, you need to send it by the deadline. And pay the RPRF as soon as possible.

Thank you! this is what I wrote them and this is what they answered me:
reference is made to your email message dated 24/10/2013. My husband (sponsor) has been contacted by CPC Mississauga and has already paid the due fees.

I am ready to submit my passport along with my daughter's. I have only one page available for the Canadian visa on my present passport. I was thinking of requesting a new passport to the Italian authorities but this would entail the cancellation of my present one. I am confident that I could obtain my new passport within a week/ten days.
I would be grateful if you could advise me as soon as possible on which could be the best solution: either send you my passport with only one page available or request a new passport that I would send to you along with my present passport (that would be cancelled by the Italian Authorities).

after this they answered me in this way:

That is your decision. As an Italian citizen you will not receive a visa on your passport but a landing document.

Now, what do you understand? Shall I ask for a new passport and I'll send it along with the old one(they have the copy of the old one, of course....) where do they put the landing document? is it a separate document?

Thank you very much for your replies....

As they said, they will not need to put a visa in your passport, so it doesn't matter how many pages you have free. The landing document doesn't go in your passport. Just send the passport you have now.
