Hi All,
I am in US on H1 and I applied for Canada immigration Federal in skilled worker category in Oct 2009 through a consultant in Canada. Now I have received a mail from my consultant that I have to provide the remaining documents for final submission at the Buffalo Visa Office and have asked me to provide docs for IELTS, Police certificates and funds.
I have already obtained the police certificate and funds documents and registered for IELTS test in the Feb.
The trouble is that my passport expires in March which is in the middle of my 120 day period. Though I have registered for IELTS test in Feb pretty much in advance, but from reading thru ielts.org it seems that it does not ensure me a place in a test on a particular date(for which I have applied) and can be any future date, if no place is available for the one I have applied for.
I did have a talk with my consultant on this and he asked me to first try submitting for the old one if possible. But i think he did not understand the gravity of situation, as it might not be possible to get all the documents(passport renewal, IELTS, police certs) in about 60 days time, if later I have to go by renewal route.
In case I get a place in IELTS for Feb and get success grades then it is fine.
But if not then I see some trouble.
Does anybody have information as to whether the forms that are to be filled for Visa Office in Buffalo can have my new passport number(different from what I had submitted to CIO)????
What creates doubt in my mind is after reading the statements in email my consultant forwarded to me which he received from the CIC.
I quote-"Until the visa office has received your completed application, it will not accept, respond to, or attach to your file any interim correspondence, EXCEPT:
• Change of address, including change of e-mail address;
• Change of immigration representative;
• Request for withdrawal of your application and refund of fees;"
Does change in passport number come under purview of above acceptable changes?
Does anybody have information about this kind of a case?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks!
