Dear,

I received a positive reply on my immigration application on 7th Jan 2015 with a request to submit my passport for PR visa with following instructions:

Step 2: Submit the following to our office
1. Your passport and a passport for each accompanying family member. The passports must be the same as the photocopies submitted to London in Step 1. If you have obtained new passports, then you must start again from Step 1. (Do not submit passports for accompanying family members who are entitled to Canadian citizenship, because they will have to travel on their Canadian passports.)

The issue is that I got my passport renewed and sent the intimation to CIC (via return email & through CIC inquiry page) as mentioned above but it has been more than 20 days that I haven't received a reply from CIC despite sending 3 reminders.

I want to know if I can send both passports (the one as the photocopies submitted to London in Step 1) along with the the new passport? Or, Should I wait for a reply from CIC (which I don't know when to expect) before sending passports for PR visa?

Please guide since this is the last stage of my application process.

the passport u sent to London was the first one, you used to apply for FSW or it was a second one. ?

The passport details that i sent to London was of the first one which is expiring in Nov'2015.
The second passport which I got renewed is expiring in Dec'2019.

Both passports however are valid.

I am curious what is Step 1, you have only posted Step 2 here.

Step 1 is when you submit your and your accompanying family members passport number, passport expiry date, height, eye color, native language details, current mailing address & telephone numbers to CIC once medical call is received. Step 1 in short is basically the steps before a final decision is taken on your immigration application.

I actually wanted to know what Step 1 required you to do?

Step 2 - seems to say that if you have a new passport you need to do Step 1. For some reason you seem to be reluctant to do Step 1. Hence my question.

I think what you have done is correct so far i.e. email and CIC inquiry. In my case, I have asked my VO (CPC-O) to print my visa at another place. They have not responded for about 20 days. Normally they should respond to emails in 20 working days i.e. a month. So you might as well wait for a few days to see if you get a response. In my case I also sent them a written letter of my problem - just to create a document trail. I don't know how useful this would be though. I'm sorry I cannot help you more.

I did follow Step 1 which was to inform them through the Additional Information Chart about my new passport details. That's all that was required but they seem to be taking too long in replying.

I'm curious if Step 1 asks you to wait for confirmation or something like that. If no, and you are ready to take a bit of risk with your passports being returned without a visa, please go ahead and submit it. If you are in the UK, I recommend doing this. If you are out of the UK, please consider the risk involved with sending your passport in the mail esp. on the return trip when it goes to your home country.

I too am having problem getting a response from my VO i.e. CPC-O. One thing helped me was to ask in the thread for that VO i.e. CPC-O in my case, if anyone has received response to emails/correspondence with the VO. This is not necessarily for the problem you are facing, but in general. In my case others told me that the VO is working through correspondence that was received between Christmas and New year. In your case ask this question to your VO related thread e.g. London: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/london-visa-office-t173178.0.html

Thanks.

I think they are very busy in managing and streamlining the Express Entry system which is causing all the delays. I will wait till mid next week after which I will forward my passports even if I haven't received a reply.

That sounds good. I wish you the best. I am following the CPC-O thread, and we have had a number of PPR's but the VO is not responding to communication i.e. they seem to be stuck on communication received a little before New Year.

Any one from mumbai/thana who have experience of getting PCC from mumbai ?
