How long does it take to issue a passport or whatever needed in order to take a flight for a newborn?

Are you applying for a Canadian Passport ?
You could present a flight ticket when submit Passport application.
My friend's only took 1 week to get it.

Yes it is a Canadian passport for a baby who was born in Canada.

LOL! Wires crossed methinks. My friend applied from within Canada! The OP didn't state where they were applying from. And it's 9 months for the citizenship certificate from an overseas consulate. You can get the temporary passport they issue for a baby quicker than 9 months. Leon and PMM know more about that one than I do.

I was referring to getting a baby that fast, it is nine months no matter where you start the process - LOL
