Passport expiry problem

Dear All,

My current passport is valid till sept 2016 and also my work visa and PGWP. on all my official documents (work visa and PGWP) my current passport number is mentioned.

Now I want to renew my passport which will cancel my old passport. What I want to ask whether my work visa and PGWP will remain valid (which has my current passport number) or I will have to contact visa office to issue me new visa and PGWP on my new passport?

I am not sure how CIC issued you a PGWP and study permit beyond your passport expiry date. Regardless, you should keep both passports on you and in my understanding renewing your passport should not void the validity of your permits. Your best choice is to contact CIC

raise a cse and and notify cic. it wont be an issue
