Hello, I have a specific question about the passport application process.

If I suddenly get a job offer for a 2 years contract... But my current passport is only good for 1 year. Can I get the NAFTA work visa, still - and renew my passport after. Or will I get turned down if my passport isn't good for the duration of the work contract?

The work permit will NOT be longer than the validity of the passport. Once you renew the passport, you can then apply to extend the work permit to the full w years.

ok.. just to make sure I understand: I can go apply for my visa, and they'll give me one valid for one year - regardless of the two year contract. After that, I can apply for a new passport. Then go back and reapply to get a work permit valid for longer.
