Passport Expiring

We got our PR recently and will be travelling in summer to India. We are planning to stay for two months and return in Aug. My child's passport was issued in India and is expiring in Nov. Is it possible (and good) to renew his passport in India? Or after returning back renew in Canada. Can we travel in one passport and return in new passport? If you any similar experience or information, please share.

You can renew passport one year before its expiry.

Yes, you can. You can opt for tatkal or regular processing. They might ask for residential address proof in India. It will be easy if you have documents to prove your permanent address in India.
It is also easy to get it renewed from an Indian consulate or embassy in Canada.
