Dear seniors, please advice.

My passport expires late august, i got my PER on the 22nd of december. My calculations tell me that ill be getting my permanet visa around june. Do i need a new passport?, and if so how do i let CIC know of the change.

It's not going to be an issue. Keep both passports with you and inform your VO about your new passport.

yes u need a new passport if your passport is expiring in less than 6 months from PPR date.
Why dont you apply now? and get a new one.
Once you get your new passport, inform the same to CIC.
you need passport for PCC as well...so think
