Passport Expiring Soon. Have applied for permanent residency.

I have submitted my Canada PR express entry application (along with documents) in August 2017. My Indian passport is expiring in April 2018. I want to renew my passport now.
Can I do that ?
Will I get new passport and the old passport as well ?
What happens if the passport stamping request is sent to me by CIC? Does the stamping need to be done on the original passport or can it be done on the renewed passport as well ?
What all I will need to do. Do I have to update the new passport number in the express entry ?

Yes you can. Renew it right away.

Yes, the old passport would be canceled though and you can't use anymore after you renew it.

No.

Once you receive the new passport, send it via CSE to update your current information (google "IRCC webform").
