hi everyone!

I hope someone will help me here, Im extremely stressed out now.

So my situation is this, I have an immigrant visa, which is valid until may 2018, stamped on my old passport, as I renewed my passport recently. I knew that I can be permitted entry with that case, provided that I will bring the old and the new passport together. On the other hand, the COPR states the details of my old passport number and I have read somewhere here that it is not a big issue. The problem is, the Canadian embassy sent an email to me after two weeks of my inquiry. It stated that I should bring the COPR and the passport to them along an explanation letter. I don't want to bring my passport back there as I am residing in Oman and the embassy is in UAE, two different countries. Also I'm leaving the country in two months so if they will delay that I will have another big problem! Can I just ignore their email since the COPR and the passport with valid visa is not an issue for entry.? Or they will be able to trace the email in the immigration in Canada?

Please help!

If they have requested the documents back, I wouldn’t advise ignoring the request. They have likely noted the change on your file and you may find yourself being refused entry at the border when you attempt to land.

Oh God. Another stress for me. I'm leaving Oman in two months, and the abu dhabi office is notorious for returning back the passport for 6 months to a year.

I called the embassy and they have told me that they don't answer immigration related concerns over the phone now and will only answer with emails. Emailed them and I will have to wait for 28 days for their reply. . This is so annoying!
