after landing in canada ( if immigration is done ) after how many months/years would one be eligible to get a canadian passport ? and once he gets a canadian passport I believe he/she can come back to home country but I believe that there is a policy that he/she should visit canada once in 2 years to maintain citizenship .

Assuming you spend almost all of your time in Canada after landing, you will qualify to apply for citizenship approximately 4 years after becoming a PR. The processing time for a citizenship application is 1-2 years. So if you land in Canada and don't leave, you can expect to have a Canadian passport 5-6 years after becoming a PR.

No - there is no policy that someone needs to visit Canada every 2 years to maintain citizenship.

There's a universal law which state that You cannot make anyone 'Stateless' (in which case, you only need to hold one passport only). Then, you will not have this fear at the back of your mind.
