Hi everyone,

My partner (Canadian) and I have been together for 8.5 years. We met on internet. We got married in January 2009. She will sponsor me to get PR. Referred some sharings at this Forum, I worry the age gap will be the problem in our application. My partner is 24 years older than me (I'm 35). I live with her upon my arrival on 28 December 2008.

Also, none of my family and my friend know I'm in same gender relationship that made me worry CICC will think our marriage are fraud, apart from the age gap. Although we are living with one of her sister and I also met one of her brother when he was in Hong Kong in 2003, they disagree our relationship and did not attend our wedding ceremony and banquet. I never took any photos with them as they did want to. So we can't provide any photo of family's gathering or letter from family to proof / support our relationship. I had a well paying job in Hong Kong and I do not have any friend in Vancouver, the reason I relocated here just because of my partner. will CICC believe us or think I just want to find someone for immigration?

Moreover, my partner made a mistake:
1. she thought an inland application for PR is more quicker than ouland. I can travel back to my homeland for family emergency once the INLAND application has been submiited
2. she thought we can appeal for inland application.

Hence, she arranged me to do the medical check-up in mid of January by using the INLAND Application. Since we still not yet submit our application, if we now want to submit an OUTLAND application, should we need to re-do the medical check-up again as the form is slightly different. Can we ignore the WRONG medical check-up when we submit an INLAND application. Will there be any influence on our application?

To proof our relationship, we have: phone bill, travel tickets (we visited each other or travelling together twice per years), travelling photo, supporting letter from my partner's coworker, who have known my partner for 3 years and met me in 2007, joint banking account that we opened in Jan, my partner listing me as her agent on her safety box. Yet, we seldom write letter, even we did emailed each other, but we didn't keep the record (only a few number of emails per year while the content is very general) as we keep talking over the phone everyday. Are those info are consolidated and good enough to proof our relationship? Even she is older than me for 24 years, even my family do not know I'm in the same gender relationship and our relationship is not supported by my partner's family?

Personally, I want to submit an OUTLAND application but my partner don't think so. Her reasons are: we had almost done to prepare everything and respond the questionnaire PLUS medical check-up had been sent out to the responsible dept. She thinks there is no point for the CICC to reject our application as we are continually to visit each other, supporting with phone bills. She thinks if everything goes smooth, I can get my PR at most 1.5 years.

Apologize for the bunches of LONG questions. Anyone can help and share your thought on our case? Million thanks.

The downside is that you can't travel while you are doing inland. If there's a family emergency, you are stuck in Canada. Otherwise, it's not so bad. You send in an application for work permit at the same time as well as visit visa extension and you should have your work permit in 6-7 months. That would be the time you would be getting the actual PR though with an outland.

Checked with HK Police, they won't do the check only if I can provide the file number and the check will send to the CICC directly.

Apparently, I can't attach the checks my application no matter it is inland or an outland. In this case, can I still go ahead to send the application and attach a note to state this situation? Will it delay to proceed my first approval stage for my application?

Thanks
